HYUNDAI STRIKES AGIAN
The price-competitive, sporty Hyundai Veloster gets a second-generation upgrade for 2019, with exterior design tweaks, improved performance and new connectivity features.
The Veloster remains one of the best-looking compact hatchback coupes on the market with a stealth rear door, rising belt-line, raked windshield, flared wheel haunches and a new menacing looking large black grille.
Using a refined Hyundai 6-speed manual transmission, our test-drive R-Spec turbo trim used sport driving mode to rocket off the starting line, tightly hug curves and bubble up NASCAR racing aspirations.
First offered in 2011 replacing the Hyundai Tiburon, the Veloster is the low price, high-performance attraction for those who eschew SUVs and trucks for behind-the-wheel driving challenges and thrills.
Outside, the new re-design is subtle but attractive, giving the coupe a more muscular, aerodynamic look best discerned by Veloster aficionados.
