Robert Vishinski Penn, 62, of Martinsville, Virginia, entered his eternal rest Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born in Martinsville August 2, 1963, to William Robert Penn and the late Virginia Shelton Penn.

Robert was of the Christian faith and a member of Mayo Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia State. As a local agent and owner/operator of Robert Penn Insurance for four decades, Robert was well-known and appreciated for his work in the community. In his leisure time, he enjoyed driving his motorcycles and cars and was an avid Cowboys fan. Robert loved grilling for family and friends. The legacy of love and kindness he left behind will forever be remembered by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Edmonds Penn; daughters, Lakeshia Penn and Jasmine Penn; and son, Vincent A. Penn.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mayo Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, with Pastor Dwight Mack officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, from 1:00-5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel.

The family will receive friends and extended family at the home, 2567 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia 24112. The family requests visiting hours durning the hours of 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Be kind to cyclists and considerate of others!

Did you know it's illegal to leave grass clippings in the road like this? In fact, it's a Class 1 misdemeanor. The Code of Virginia (18.2-324) and Town Ordinances (Sec. 23.1) say no one may throw or deposit any substance onto a road that creates a hazard to the traveling public. Grass clippings create a slick surface that's especially dangerous to motorcyclists. Please be sure to bag, sweep or blow them back into your yard!
