Adin’s Bronco

Our good friend Brett had a BIG project for us. He wanted to refresh his son’s Ford bronco for his senior year.

After some discussions and evaluation of the vehicle we made a plan and got to work.

Brand new full suspension rebuild. With Moog front end parts, and 6 Bilstine shocks.

The 8.8 rear had seen some better days.. when we pulled the cover the Trac Loc Differential was missing some chunks, so a partial rebuild of the rear was done. New Trac Loc diff and bearings, along with axel bearings and seals.

While we where at it we did and overall paint job from black to white, with a raptor liner on the remove-able rear top. Some trim black accents to really give some contrast and make it all pop.

We also installed a remote/keyless start/entry system to bring the Bronco to more modern standards. Along with rear pod lights for reverse, and rock lights.

Timing chains..

Seems here lately it’s timing chain season…

While I one wants to deal with a major repair like this unfortunately it’s become the “norm” since the industry moved away from timing belts….

Along with more moving parts(VVT ect) there’s more to go wrong and more demand on the chain then ever. Which in turn causes quicker wear.

In this case we had gotten a call about possibly jumped timing on a 3.5 ecoboost motor. After the conversation and drop off, we got to looking at it. We determined via the scan tool that it looks like a timing gear was stuck in one position. We were also told the truck was at Ford not too long ago for phaser replacement.

So the final decision was full tear down/inspection. And full replacement. In most cases due to milage we honestly recommend full replacement for longevity/reliability/and performance.

Funny noise? Don’t run quite right? Or we’ll just somthing “off” give us a call.

Lifter ticks, these days they seem to be more common then ever across all the manufacturers.

We got a call about a Jeep. They wanted a second option with tear down to verify their noise. 

While the Chrysler 3.6 is notorious for this failure. We still like to verify things as well befor we get to far ahead of ourselves.

We found a few rollers on their way out, along with some ready to eat into the cam shafts.

Corrected with New updated parts. No more ticks and a smooth running engine.

Timings chains and F150’s..

Vince had called us asking about replacing some VVT actuators.

After a short discussion learning more about the vehicle. We decided it would be a good idea to check things out befor we just replaced the parts.

Good thing we did because he had a few VVT gears that were alittle worn out. Observer via Live data. We reccomended a complete timing set and all new actuators.

Now his truck runs better than the day he bought it!.

Weird noises? Not running right? We got you covered. No jobs to big or to small.

Another evaporator core diagnosed and replaced, on a Ford Escape.

1966 Pontiac Lemans

We got a call a month ago about our availability to check out a power steering leak on a Lemans at the time. Schedules didn’t align so we planned for a later date to bring the car in.

What started as a possible power steering pump wound up being a steering box… and an overall complete inspection of the vehicle.

Stay tuned too see the next round of service on another classic car.

Well it’s still hot out there…

Another friend of a friend was hot as well. They had taken their car into another shop and were told they needed an evaporator. They wanted a second opinion as well as another estimate on cost.

It didn’t take long to confirm there was dye leaking from the HVAC box, and not to much time after once we got the evaporator out.

Blowing icicles now, and no more dye to leak in the interior or funny smells.

It’s HOT!!

Our buddy John, came by last week for an A/C evaluation/diagnosis. He’s majors complaints where lack of air flow and random shut down of the system.

After confirming operation pressures, charge level, adequate draining from the evaporator case. We determined that the evaporator had to be packed full of garbage/debris, which was causing freaze up of the evaporator or making the evaporator temperature sensor think it was freaZing due to lack of air flow.

This is what we found doing during tear down along with the heater core starting to leak.

Found the problem and stopped another befor it ever became one.

Classic Cadillac Escalade…

Our friend wanted to go “old school” think back to the early 00’s(yes that was already almost 30years ago)

He brought us some 26’s a radio and said can you make it work? We told him we surely could.

A suspension conversion and 3” lift kit made it all possible. Radio was a fairly straight forward install, along with pre wireing for amp and subs at a later date.
