Going to the semi-annual IFO every year is an event we look forward to with great enthusiasm. My son loves to show off his Alfa Romeo, and I live my dreams thru him. We missed our goal, once again, to get our $hitbox ready for the show scene...which isn't surprising. It will most likely never come to fruition due to finances. We have come to terms with just enjoying it for what it is - a fun piece of nostalgia that we can make fun of, spend time with, and make more memories. With that being said, we took it to the IFO in March and were goofy enough to enter into the "Low Car Limbo", just to make an appearance.
Well, we've been immortalized for our efforts...here is proof of our YOLO antics..we made it into the IFO's official website's photo gallery from that March 10th event in Las Vegas.

The day has finally arrived, when we had the doors fixed! Yes, they go up and they stay up! Not only that, but they are perfectly aligned so no more struggling to close.
We found the most awesome place that fixed the problem with absolutely no problem at all! Atomic Motors in Henderson is now our new home for the next phase. They specialize in repair, restoration, upholstery, fabrication, and everything this sh!tbox needs...and they even have a showroom sporting every imaginable classic car you would die for.
Rolling up in this crapmobile was embarrassing, seeing all the beautiful custom rods...but we were welcomed and treated like we belonged there amongst them! Everyone was courteous and complimented the moneypit, and one guy walked by and said it was a cool car! They seemed excited to have it there and looking forward to helping us finish it and reach our goal.
I wish this could have happened 15 years ago, but I'm confident I will die happy.

A/C works surprisingly great for his age, however this heat has been too much for even my 2013 Fit to cool off so expecting this old man to keep up is not fair.
Sorry for the lack of updates and no progress, but I am up for anyone wanting to throw some change my way so we can get this money pit to the IFO in December and show off our stuff.

My son pointed this out to me the other day...now the other side of the rear bumper is taking a "break". Time to get the JBWeld out again. I don't kid when I say this old thing is held together by super glue.
The new bumper is in the trunk...

To avoid any more tire issues, we dropped the old man at Discount Tire and had the remaining tires checked and balanced....

Airing up the tires, the valve stem broke. Removing the tire proved to be a challenge.

How to fix a broken bumper...aside from buying a new one, which I did...here's the fix. Cut out 2 pieces of hard plastic...

How to fix a broken bumper...aside from buying a new one, which I did...here's the fix. Cut out 2 pieces of hard plastic and make a hole for the bolt. Glue both pieces, one on top and one on the bottom of the broken original hole, clamp and wait. Then reattach and Bob's your uncle!
