We haven’t posted in a while, but we figured we would update everyone on racing going on this weekend! Duck River Raceway Park is racing Open Wheel Modifieds for $2,024 to WIN TOMORROW, SUNDAY Feb 18th! 2nd feature on schedule. 8 cars came today, so chances are you will start the feature if you come on out tomorrow! Caution free heat racing today and a few changes have been made on the start zone for the ones who was worried about that last season! Check out their fb page for more details on tomorrow events. Southern Sportsman Modified Series Takes a Pause in 2024 to Support Local Racing

[Hartselle, Al] – The Southern Sportsman Modified Series announces a pause for the 2024 season, prioritizing the local Open Wheel Modified weekly racing division. Recognizing the economic challenges faced by many, the series aims to give the economy time to adjust and prevent adverse impacts on local tracks.

With a commitment to sustaining the future of the division, the Southern Sportsman Modified Series will redirect its efforts in 2024 towards other opportunities while actively promoting and sharing knowledge with local tracks who wish to have their own modified races across the southeast. I have renewed my position with Duck River Raceway Park and the Boothe Family for the 2024 season, as well as another opportunity including Super Late Models. My focus remains on pushing Modifieds in Tennessee and cultivating a competitive weekly payout at Duck River Raceway Park, while also learning more on the Super side of the racing community.

I express my gratitude for the overwhelming support received in the previous season, acknowledging the belief in my contributions to the sport and the drivers. I want to emphasize the collaborative effort, extending a heartfelt thank you to Chris, Christie, Tagan, Paul, and my family for their unwavering support at every race.

I also want to share a BIG thank you to all of the sponsors who came on board and gave me a chance to make a difference for the inaugural season. Without sponsors, the sport wouldn’t be what it is today, so we thank you to all of the businesses who are still willing to work with me on these other opportunities in 2024.

I couldn't have accomplished this series without the incredible team around me. Thank you for understanding our decision, and I wish luck to all in the upcoming season.

While taking a break from the series, the Southern Sportsman Modified Series remains committed to the racing community by keeping its rules updated. Non-CRUSA tracks interested in adopting the series' rule package, are encouraged to stay connected for ongoing updates. Please contact Chelsie for a copy of the rule package if needed.

SSMS Pre Tech tent is set up at North Alabama Speedway and ready to open! We will be ready to start pre tech around 5:20pm! 🏁🏁
All Modifieds must come through pre tech before drivers meeting at 7pm!
Registration will be at the original registration booth at the track!
Drivers that are series members please be sure to sign your name and car # on a large sponsor autograph stand. They are set up on a table while your car is being teched.
ALL DRIVERS sign the small autograph stands for race fans tonight!
