I still can’t believe the news. Ken Block, you LITERALLY changed the game. So many car enthusiasts (us included) have been inspired by your brand, your content, and you as a person. Just know that your legacy WILL live on. Sending prayers to your family and friends, hoping they find peace during this tough time. Rest in peace. 🙏🏽

We have over 100,000 pictures that have never seen the light of day. Somewhere on Google Photos or Lightroom live visual masterpieces that we’re personally proud of. But in an attempt to appease the algorithm, we’ve resorted to posting subpar iPhone videos instead of high quality photos. And since we’re not “videographers” aiming to deliver the BEST videos, it’s no wonder why our reach has been squashed by the algorithm.

Well IG, like it or not we’re going to start posting photos again, the thing we’re actually good at.

Some of you know this but Len and I (Ozzie) are black men. And as you can imagine this period in time has been particularly challenging for us. Speaking candidly, a big part of our frustration stems from the mass ignorance that blankets our country. Even now after weeks of protests, people sharing information daily via social media and news coverage; people still don’t get it. You know how we know? The comments. We’ve sat back and paid attention to our own car community having disregard for simple human rights. We’ve seen many criticize and ridicule others for speaking up for black people during this time. And so many arguing about whether black lives matter or not. MATTER....We’re disappointed to say the least...so Len and I decided to make a time investment to read, discuss and strategize how we can positively impact our community. In this, we realized that there is a HUGE void of black people in the automotive space. With that said we hope to help cultivate a stronger network of black automotive figures, people who are willing to help mentor others aspiring to do the same. We’ve endured many challenges that you wouldn’t believe in the last 10 years for AMU & , and it’s our goal to make it easier for those carrying the torch behind us.
So if you or someone you know are willing to help, let us know. This system was not created to help black people thrive and we cannot wait for the system to change. We have to continue to find ways to unite and change the system ourselves. ✊🏽
