Caveman’s Camper Care now offers Hydro-jet waste tank services.

RV waste tanks are certainly one of the least glamorous parts of owning a rig. Black tanks of course hold human waste but did you know that gray tanks are often even worse?!

Grease, mold, skin, hair, and other nasty debris often cling to the sides of your tanks or sit on the bottom so when you do a regular tank dump the liquids flush out leaving much of this behind.

Another culprit of RV tank trouble is struvite - a mineral buildup that starts as a sludge looking debris but then hardens into sand looking particles and then large thick chunks.

Here’s how struvite can affect RV waste tanks:

1. Clogging and Blockages: Struvite crystals can form over time and accumulate in the pipes, tank sensors, and even the tank itself, leading to blockages that can disrupt the proper flow of waste and water.
2. Odor Issues: As the struvite builds up and potentially mixes with organic material, it can contribute to unpleasant odors, especially if there is inadequate ventilation or the tank is not regularly maintained.
3. Tank Efficiency: The formation of struvite can affect the efficiency of the waste system, causing the tank to become less effective at holding waste and potentially leading to overflows, slow draining, or tank sagging due to the extra weight.

Customer Complaint: “I need somebody to come look at my camper, I keep blowing a breaker and I don’t know why.”

🔌FOUND IT!🔌

When we went to remove the burned up receptacle the wires had VERY loose connections and the plug just pulled right out of the side of the rig. Also, we have had some WILD weather in the area and there certainly could have been an electrical surge or lightning situation.

As soon as we received the pictures from this client our first observation/question was “do you have a surge protector?”

Whatever the cause of the damage may be, once the fried pieces were replaced, a RV surge protector was a part of the solution and certainly our suggestion to avoid additional damage and protection moving forward.

There are a number of possible culprits as to why this plug may have burned up but we are just very thankful that it was caught and repaired before someone was seriously hurt or there was loss of life or property.

The Pick Me Up from CMS Mobile RV is a GAME CHANGER my friends!

We were recently having a chuckle with some folks at an RV park that we frequent for jobs because our method for getting AC units on roofs certainly reflects that we are a hard working team.

It usually consists of me (Annie) in the truck bed getting old AC units dropped down at me from above and then pushing new ones up the ladder rungs while Dave pulls them with straps. It is effective, yes but certainly not very safe (or flattering for that matter). 😂

Those days are gone! The Pick Me Up attaches to your ladder rung and using just a typical rechargeable battery (like Craftsman or Dewalt) operates a winch to lower and raise heavy and awkward items like air conditioning units or solar panels to the top of a roof with ease!

Needless to say but we are VERY happy we added The Pick Me Up to our toolbox!
