Happy New Year everyone! 🎉 We are excited to get after 2025 and share the adventures throughout the year as we go. So to kick things off - here is our first completed job for January!
This customer came to us explaining a constant issue with his 2012 3.6L Chevrolet Impala. At random times, whether upon cold start or during a drive, a message would display of engine temp too high and A/C off. This would also cause the coolant temperature gauge to stop working completely. This is often caused by a stuck or malfunctioning thermostat, which was the culprit in this case. We replaced both the thermostat, housing gasket, as well as, a new temperature sensor while we were there.
Due to extremely high mileage and lack of maintenance - we completed a full inspection and compression test finding an oil leak from the rear valve cover and spark plugs soaked in engine oil due to leaking spark plug tubes. While these issues made a bit of a mess, we were able to get everything apart, cleaned up, and install new seals / gaskets to ensure this didn’t continue, and a new set of spark plugs. We were also made aware the battery light came on and left the customer stranded due to a charging system issue recently, so after verifying low voltage at the alternator we made the decision to replace it, as well as, the serpentine belt for safe measure.
We are grateful for the opportunity to get this vehicle ready for many miles ahead and look forward to continuing to service the community we’ve grown up in. If you or anyone you know is in need of vehicle maintenance or performance work, feel free to reach out to us or share our information as we are happy to help! Here’s to 2025! 🥂
