Rise Racing 89 issues an apology

A Rise Apology

Rise Racing did not make it to the Illinois State Fair Calypso 100 at Springfield, IL on Sunday. We let down our driver, Chase Howard, Chase Howard Racing , his sponsors 2 Fellas Moving Company, Metro Awnings, Josh Boone's Water Well, Esgar Fabrication, MRA Sprint Car Series, our fans, and even our own team members traveling from across the mid west and east coast to support Chase. To everyone, we apologize. There are no excuses. This was truly an unforced error and could have been avoided. We had high hopes for this race and still have high hopes for DuQuoin on September 6th. Chase Howard is an exceptional young dirt racer and we have built an ARCA car specifically for him to be used exclusively on the dirt tracks. Despite the tireless efforts of the team during the final days before the race, the car simply was not in condition to race. The team worked as long as they possibly could until they needed to depart for the 13 hour trip to the track to make it in time for the race. The car simply was not ready. We failed. It sucks! This team has overcome obstacles all season and has a “failure is not an option mindset”! We failed and we let a lot of people down in the process, and we know an apology is not good enough.

Instead of being at the track on Sunday morning, our team that had put in nearly 40 straight hours was in church. We were a little late for the service, but we were there, giving glory to God. Coincidentally, the sermon was about the struggles we have aligning our human timelines with God’s plan for us. We may have our own plan, but God has an even bigger plan for us…in other words, things happen for a reason. It certainly wasn’t intentional on our part, but we weren’t meant to be at that race.

We recognize the future of our sport depends on the development of our youth…from our UNOH crew members to providing opportunities for young drivers like Chase.

To Chase and his sponsors, we failed and we own it. We don’t make excuses; we didn’t deliver. Chase, this team put together a car just for you and it will be at DuQuoin ready for you to do your thing on the dirt track and hopefully improve upon your 7th place finish last year with the team.

We are a small team trying to do big things with little to no funding.
