Well the weather was pretty crappy when we finished up this 67 mustang back in December. The owner was kind enough to get me some good photos of it all wrapped up. This car was a prime example of opening a can of worms. What started as a simple job turned into an adventure I doubt I will forget. In the end a stubborn no quit attitude got it back in his garage and out of mine. My Favorite part of this car was that 600h.p 427 small block . Videos coming

Trying to help the owner sell this truck, his health is declining and he needs it gone. We built this thing for him several years ago a we went a little crazy on it but it has been an awesome truck. It started life as a 1957 GMC ,it is still running original doors, fenders and hood but thats about the only thing GMC left on it.

THE HEART OF THE BEAST. Its
sitting on a Fabricated and powdercoated Corvette Corrections chassis built by Billy Dawson and it has C4 corvette suspension(front and rear) and steering with upgraded dual piston calipers, drilled&slotted rotors front and rear. Has a healthy 5.3L Ls( not my choice) but we did put a healthy comp cam and upgraded cylinder heads on her with the fitech fabricated aluminum intake. Hooked to that is a built 4l65e transmission 2200 stall converter with all the necessary goodies to consistently handle 500 H.P. It has a 2.56 gear ratio which personally I would change to wake this truck up,, Not that its slow. Curb weight is about 3850 lbs not much more than a C4 Corvette.

EXTERIOR.
The goal was a seamless sleak design, We did alot of gap work on the doors, hood, and fenders to get this thing lined up nicely. Alot of elbow grease to block this thing out . Has the Kindigit spoon flush door handles. One peiced windshield visor. Custom screen on hood that took place of the original GMC chrome that serves as a ram air intake, grille is made from the same material. After driving it some we've nickname the grille (The bug shredder 2000) . Below that is a tucked and shaved bumper.
Out back the new bed panels received extensive work. The bed floor was raised 4 inches for clearance, we added inner fenders to stuff a 275 tire on and keep room for IRS to work. The side fender steps are reworked to be lower in order to line up with the rocker perfectly. All the stepside bed hardware has been shaved, 144 bolts that you normally see on a stepside bed are gone. You can't do all that and put a regular old tailgate on it with chain latches so we cut up that tailgate as well. Top of the tailgate was made flat to match the bed top and we also reversed the tailgate (inside is out) and made up latches with electric actuators so you push a button for the tailgate to drop. It Works off the remote key fob also(its fun to mess with people) . Below that is a roll pan we carefully routed exhaust out of and added super bright led flush reverse lights.
Topped all that of with GM magnetic metallic red tri coat paint and 5 coats of clear. Several years later it has a few minor blemishes/chips now. Its not a trailer queen its been taken on some long trips.

INTERIOR.
Has TMI seats, matching door panels, kick panels and head liner. We double layer sound matt everywhere we could get it so its a nice quiet ride for a classic. Flaming river tilt column, Dakota digital gauges, vintage air system. Touch screen satellite radio with gps and backup camera. Console with cup holders and concealed storage inside. Overhead storage bin. 50s truck are not built for comfort so to help we cut into the back of the cab a couple inches for extra seat clearance and leg room. At 6ft 2 I can comfortably drive and fit in it.

OTHER GOODIES
Has electric exhaust cutouts ( they are not an on off thing, you can adjust them to make the amount of noise you want or close for a quiet ride)
Cruise control
Keyless entry key fob. Also works the tailgate release. Honks horn a flashes light when you lock it

DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This thing handles so good!! It will pull .9 G's in a turn. If you hold the brake it will roast tires but if you just mash the skinny pedal it hooks up really well and will squat and go. With the 2.56 gear ratio it doesn't use overdrive unless over 60 mph but will still lock the torque converter in 3rd. Gets 18mpg from 60-75 mph. Braking system is very well balanced and if you need it to WOAH it will in a very effective manner. The C4 steering is very responsive! Mechanically it would make one hell of an autocross truck.

BRASS TAX
Owner is seeking to get $108,000 for the truck but he's will to entertain a reasonable offer. I build Cars/Trucks for a living, mostly for clients, I understand that there's alot of classics out there cheaper but I know it's for a good reason. I also understand that you never get the money out of them that you put in. Today it would cost close to 200k to build something even close to this. If you drag one from the weeds and did it yourself it'd cost you 90k . And a couple thousand hours of labor.A custom built vehicle is not for everyone ,some will think its the 💩 others think its just💩.
If its not for you then move on to something that is. Im gonna keep building cars either way.GOD BLESS
