Remember When Restorations

We Had the honor of working on this fantastic '41 Ford "farm truck" as the owner describes it. Lol
We did some wiring work, major suspension work and some paint work. Then we buffed it out for a nice shine.
Another so called hot rod shop did some repairs that were not only shoddy but very dangerous. We repaired it all. And finished just in time for show season!
The truck is owned by a very talented professional photographer, Glen Davis Photography/Glen Davis' Rod Shots. Who allowed us the use of his cool truck and took the pictures of my band, The Pit Crew!

Kevin brought his 68 SS 396 El Camino in for a package shelf repair and a new vinyl top and headliner.
When we stripped the old paint off to prep the metal for sealer and new paint we found a few surprises! Poor bodywork in the past created some big issues in the present! Hand formed some patch panels, welded them in and treated the underside with a rust proof coating. Installed the new top and headliner.

Just finished painting Mike's 70 mustang hood, including stripes and 351 callouts. He converted to a shaker hood.

Got a free day to do some work on my survivor 72 Gran Torino sport. The previous owner started to put a new top on but couldn't finish it.
I stripped the paint off the top, applied 2 coats of acid etch primer, followed by 2 coats of epoxy primer/sealer then 3 coats of urethane single stage paint. This will seal the metal under the new vinyl top to prevent any possible rusting.. finally applying the new brown top.
This will be a different kind of restoration. I will be preserving this car. It still wears its original paint, original interior. The engine still has its original carb, belts, hoses, alternator, starter and water pump. The valve cover have never been taken off! I purchased this cool Gran Torino from the original owner. I will post more photos in the future. Detailing the originality of this time capsule.
