Day 53-60: 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo
Having only driven it no more than 1/2 mile in almost 2 months, we got it driving and more importantly stopping…FINALLY! Later that night however, the CEL came on after a huge loss of power while cruising.
After days of this that and the other, we found a wire hanging loose. We’d already diagnosed the Knock Sensor as what was causing the CEL and issues and sure enough the KS had no connector wire attached. After tracing it to the ECU and checking the pinout, we confirmed we were correct. We added a new connector and reattached the wire back to the KS.
Along with some interior repairs, cleaning, and reinstallation of trim pieces; we adjusted the suspension, addressed some more boost leaks in vacuum lines, secured some loose lines on the undercarriage, and continued troubleshooting an ongoing idle surge.
Lastly, the spoiler had risers added for AutoX purposes, but we removed them to give it a more subtle look 🤌
