Happy Holidays from all of us at The Smoots Driving Academy! As we reflect on the year, we want to thank you for trusting us with your driver education journey. It has truly been a pleasure serving our students and families.

Hot off the press—we have exciting news to share!
🎉 The Smoots Driving Academy is now officially DMV-certified to administer the North Carolina Road Test!

This means no more long DMV lines to obtain your Limited Provisional License (Level 2). Beginning at the start of the new year, eligible students can complete their road test directly with us.

✅ Who Is Eligible?

This opportunity is available to students who:

Are between the ages of 16–18

Have held a North Carolina Limited Learner Permit for at least 12 months

Have completed 60 hours of driving, including 10 nighttime hours

Have met all NC DMV permit requirements

Once the road test is successfully completed, students may qualify for their Limited Provisional License (Level 2)—without the hassle of waiting at the DMV.
