Today's severe weather risk has been upgraded (as expected) E/SE of the metroplex. Main threats with the strongest storms will be large hail & damaging winds. However, the atmosphere will likely be more conducive for tornadic development in the "Enhanced" risk area. Severe storms won't be for everyone, but have a plan in place if it does get dicey in your area!

Not everyone will see storms (or even rain!) Friday afternoon/evening, but all areas in the red shading are at risk for severe weather. We won't know for sure where the cap will break and allow those isolated bad storms to develop and track until just before it happens. The chances of seeing severe storms increase as one goes father east. Very large hail (baseball size) is the main threat, but damaging winds and a tornado or two are also possible.

Stay weather aware during the hours listed for your location. Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and be prepared to take action.
