I love my Sportglide but every new bike needs some additions. Today, added some upright carrying capacity (pockets) next to the inner wall, supported by hardware already in place and the 2” floor of the inside clamshell. This should keep the outer shell from breaking loose from the weight of my tools. How do you like the way I repurposed Irish’s first carpenters apron? Irish made the sheet metal pocket to hold my heavy hand tools off the bag floor, so thankful💚

We took a cruise last weekend to Oakland for the St. Paddy’s Day Party. Decided to stay off the main highways so took Panoche Rd (the goat trail) into Hollister. The wildflowers were in bloom and the hills were green, lovely. I expected lots of patchwork potholes but I didn’t expect to have to cross running water 3 times! Me and the bike looked like mud puppies after that. I ordered the Extenda Fenda from Moto Machines to add a few more inches to the back of my shorty front fender. With rain/snow in the forecast this weekend, figured no better time to give it a test ride. I’ll let you know how it goes.

After 10 years on the Nightrain, it’s time to add another pony to the stable. Welcome my new-to-me 2021 Sport Glide. Came with lots of extras, but now it’s time to make it my own. First things first, after checking the maintenance history, an oil change was just done but it has never had the battery changed - replacing it was an experience! Ordered a taller windshield, one that actually blocks the wind. Ordered a back rest too, more to attach my gear to than to support a passenger. Tried to change out more parts from the Train, but typical of Harley Davidson… not much crossfits. More details to handle tomm. Having a blast working on my new ride!💚

PRICE REDUCED FROM $10,000 TO $6,500. A hundred year anniversary ‘03 FXSTDI Deuce. I’m the only owner/rider. Garage kept and battery tendered. Chris Rivas did the last high performance tune, so it packs a punch. In 2013, had a complete (top and bottom end) rebuild. Jan. 2022 had new 95ci jugs and pistons, pushrods and adjustable lifters installed; so the engine is basically at zero miles although the odometer reads 120,000. She’s riding fine as wine and you can feel that extra horsepower Chris mapped into her. Extras - Pro One wheels. Stage 1 kit. High-capacity oil pump. Oil cooler. Vance and Hines pipes. Pulled back handlebar. LED taillight. Heated handgrips. Luggage rack and backrest. New Michelin back tire, front tire is good. PM for info.

The ‘07 Nightrain kept cutting off while riding. Never would have guessed it was pinholes in the fuel line (rubbed inside the tank) that caused decompression in the tank. 82,000 miles and 15 years can do that to plastic tubing. We are up and running again. Learn something new everyday.

After 10,000 miles in the last few months, it’s Spa day at the garage. Oil changed, filters cleaned, tires aired up, and assessing for the future. Always good to be with Irish on a warm Fall day working on the bikes.
