We have several projects in house right now. This one is a 1968 Ford Mustang. This gal was damaged during Hurricane Helene, we are repairing dents caused by a down tree, replacing the hood, the lower quarter panels that had rust damage, upgrading to power steering and power brakes and then giving her a fresh coat of paint. Grampi has been putting his special touch on the sanding work.

Scott's Dream Car Gets a Modern Touch

Our newest project is in the shop and well underway. This beauty belongs to our dear friend Scott. She is a 1949 Chevrolet Styleline. Scott has had this car for several years, and it is entirely original. As you can imagine, driving long distances or on the highway with a car of this age is not ideal. The time has come for an update so Scott and his lady, Lyn, can truly enjoy this classic.

The '49 is getting an engine swap; the straight six is going away, and in its place will be a new V8. This change will give the car the power and reliability to cruise comfortably and confidently on modern roads.

To enhance the handling and safety of the vehicle, the front clip will be updated to a Mustang 2 style with a power rack. This modification ensures that the car will have improved steering response and a smoother ride, making it a pleasure to drive.

Along with changing out the rear end to a Monte Carlo Rear end, the car will get a new braking system. These updates are crucial for the performance and safety of the vehicle, allowing Scott and Lyn to enjoy their journeys without concerns about stopping power.

Although Scott wants to update the car's mechanics, he also wants to maintain the classic appearance. So, the steering column will remain the original. This attention to detail showcases the commitment to preserving the car's vintage charm while embracing modern reliability.

This project is a labor of love, blending the timeless elegance of the 1949 Chevrolet Styleline with contemporary performance enhancements. We are thrilled to bring Scott's vision to life and can't wait to see this classic beauty back on the road, ready for new adventures.
