So this tire was used in our last race.
650 miles.
Why does it look so bad?
Performance tires are designed for grip, and that comes at a cost of endurance. When you throw a 2000 lb car around a corner at 90mph, that left front tire is fighting for its life giving everything it can. After two days, the outside edge gives up.
Currently we are running about 2 degrees of negative camber, which still isn't enough. Under those extreme loads, 3 degrees or more is needed to keep the tire flat on the road. We just got adjustment bolts to give us the extra degree we need.
Why does this matter to you? You aren't racing.
Because racing basically gives us a glimpse into the future. 50k miles of wear on a tire in 24 hours.
At NRP, we know tires.
Don't put your life in the hands of that discount place. Tires are your only connection with the road, and the last thing you want in an emergency is "at least I saved a few bucks". You want professionals who have the experience when it matters.
