How much longer do you think that Ford will continue with a V8 Mustang? GM completely discontinued the Camaro a few years ago, but it may return in a different configuration in the coming years. Dodge decided to go a different route, by offering 2 and 4 door versions of the redesigned Charger in an EV or inline 6 powertrain.

Who currently does it best? Will Ford drift away from the traditional Mustang offering of a RWD, V8?

2027 looks to be a major year of change for GM with the new 8.3L Duramax, 5.7L V8, and 6.6L V8. GM is also refreshing the 3.0L diesel and the 2.7L Turbomax.

Hybrids will certainly play a big role going forward for Ford and everyone else. The Powerboost F150 was a huge gamble for Ford. Beyond the generator and battery, a lot changes on a hybrid vehicle. The complexity of a hybrid system goes much further.

Is the extra power, torque, and efficiency worth the extra complexity?

Hybrids are great when they work correctly. If you are leasing a Powerboost or only plan to have it while you have a warranty, you save yourself from potentially extensive repair costs. If you purchase a Powerboost that is no longer under warranty, you certainly run the risk of high repair costs, such as a battery or generator failure.
