What do you all think about this crazy new law Gov. Murphy just signed on his last day in office about e-bikes?

New Jersey has now passed one of the strictest e-bike regulations in the country. Under the new rules, all electric bikes are classified as motorized bicycles, meaning riders have to:

• Be at least 15 years old and have a license to ride (or have a regular driver’s license to ride without a separate permit). 
• Register and insure their e-bike. 
• Riders 14 and under are banned from using motorized bicycles entirely. 

Supporters say this is about increasing safety after a rise in crashes, but critics argue it goes too far and creates unnecessary red tape for everyday riders. 

Is this a reasonable safety update, or is it overregulation that will hurt commuters, teens, and e-bike culture? Drop your thoughts below.

Group ride today at 10am 😁

We had the ultimate night ride last night, 22 miles of pure adventure that lasted about 3½ hours! Most of it was on paved roads, but we also hit some rough off-road sections through the woods. I was taking corners in the dirt and rocks at 28 mph, and my bike handled it like a beast and it was smooth, steady, and powerful the whole way. I really enjoy having good company on these rides because it makes the adventure even better. We all definitely had a good time and plenty of laughs, the vibe was good like always. The best part is I finally hit 700 miles on my bike! I’ve been putting those miles in, lol. Can’t wait for the next ride!

We had a nice ride yesterday had lunch and went out on a 35mi ride. My buddy finally joined the 1000mi club 😂

We had a nice 2hr group ride tonight it was a little cold but well worth it 😁. Thanks for everyone who came out. The next group ride is next Sunday at 10am
