At Greenwich West, 110 Charlton Street in Greenwich Village, a car pulls into one of two loading bays and the door closes behind it. Once the driver exits the vehicle, it is transported to storage. The lift takes it up, the safety gates open, and an AGV turns the car and moves it into its space. The garage holds 30 spaces across one subterranean level and four upper levels.

Brickell House in Miami holds 411 cars in a fully automated robotic garage by ParkPlus. It is the largest and tallest AGV automated parking system in the world.

This clip follows a storage and retrieval sequence through the system.

Full automation changes a project's numbers:
⚙️ Smaller footprint. The same car count in a fraction of the area.
⚙️ Less excavation. Fewer below-grade levels to dig, shore, and waterproof.
⚙️ Lower construction cost across the parking structure.
⚙️ More usable area. Everything the ramps and drive aisles would have taken goes back to the building.
⚙️ Secured vehicles. No one enters the vault, so nothing is touched between drop-off and pickup.

On a tight site or a coastal development like Brickell, that is often what allows the project to go ahead at all.

Where excavation is viable, a puzzle parking system adds a pit level beneath the grid.

A vehicle reverses onto a platform and is raised, a second transfers into the position below it, and the vehicle at pit level rises into the space left open. The driver triggers the cycle from a keypad, fob or remote, and no attendant is involved at any point.
