We’re adding some new species to our boatbuilding timber inventory, including Butternut and Basswood. Both make for lightweight, rot resistant wood for stringers and strips in skin-on-frame and strip construction--and are a smart alternative to Northern White Cedar, which has become more and more difficult to obtain, especially in longer lengths.
