This is what's needed to replace the water pump on the 3.5L V6 engine for Ford Explorers.

The customers usually bring the vehicle in with low coolant but no leaks found. After performing a coolant pressure test we use a camera to check if coolant is coming out of this weep hole behind the alternator. This is designed to indicate the water pump is no longer sealing and will need to be replaced.

It's a large job but we do them often. If your Ford Explorer mysteriously loses coolant bring it by to have this checked out to prevent overheating your engine!
