A little behind the scenes look at what was recently in our shop...

This 2014 Ford F-150 came in needing some attention to the variable valve timing system (amongst other things).

Once we got into it, there was no shortage of parts to look at. 😅 Timing components, actuators, guides, chains... it's one of those jobs where everything has to go back together exactly the way it came apart.

We replaced the variable valve timing actuator, got everything lined back up, and started putting this truck back together. Definitely not a quick afternoon project- but that's what makes getting to the finish line so satisfying.🔧

This is the kind of job where experience matters. Timing has to be right. Torque has to be right. Assembly has to be right. At Jaybirdz Garage, we have the experience to handle these types of jobs. 💪

Your vehicle's fluids can tell us more than you think! 🧐

At Jaybirdz Garage, every vehicle that comes through our shop receives a thorough courtesy inspection. One of the tools we use is our Fluid Service Tray (shown here) which allows our technicians to compare the condition of your vehicle's fluids against fresh fluids.

During your inspection, technicians inspect the following fluids (when allotted): - Engine oil, - Transmission fluid, - Power steering fluid, - Coolant, - Brake fluid, - Differential/ Drivetrain fluid.

By examining the color, clarity, and condition of each fluid, we can spot signs of contamination, overheating, moisture, or wear before they become expensive repairs.

Our goal at Jaybirdz Garage isn't to sell you services you don't need- it's to give you an honest assessment of your vehicle's health so you can make informed decisions and avoid unexpected breakdowns. Your brake pads are one of the most important safety systems on your vehicle- but many drivers don't know when it's time to replace them.

Take a look at our Brake Pad Thickness Guide:
🟢6mm+ - Good to go!
🟡3-5mm - Time to plan for a replacement
🔴 Less than 3mm - Replace NOW

The Last two photos show what a brake pad should look like fresh out of the box, and a worn brake pad we recently removed from a customer's vehicle. Once brake pads get thin, stopping distance increases, rotors can become damaged, and repairs become much more expensive.

Common signs you may need new brakes include:
- Squealing or grinding noises
- Vibration when braking
- Soft or spongy brake pedal
- Vehicle pulling while braking
- Brake light warning
