NASA’s Roman Space Telescope is on its way. 🚀🔭

Launched Sunday aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy, Roman is now on a three-month journey to L2 — where it’ll hunt for dark energy, dark matter, and over 1,000 new exoplanets.

First images expected early 2027. The next chapter of space astronomy just started.

Misawa’s F-35As flew their first Red Flag, joining Marine F-35Cs over Alaska. Exercise wraps Aug 28.

For 50 years presidents have walked across grass to board Marine One. That ends this month. The new VH-92A Patriot produces about 2.5x the rotor wash of the VH-3D Sea King it replaces, and vents exhaust downward at the rear — enough to tear the South Lawn apart on every landing. The fix: a 100-foot granite pad, donated by Sikorsky.

Steam is making a comeback on America’s newest aircraft carriers. 🇺🇸⚓ President Trump has ordered the Navy to drop the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) on the future USS Doris Miller and return to steam-powered catapults — the same tech used on Nimitz-class carriers for decades. The catch: EMALS production for Doris Miller is already nearly 50% complete, and the redesign could cost hundreds of millions of dollars. USS Gerald R. Ford, John F. Kennedy and Enterprise will keep EMALS — meaning the Ford class could end up split between two generations of launch technology.

History made. ✈️

Qantas' first Project Sunrise Airbus A350-1000ULR has arrived in Toulouse after completing a remarkable 24-hour, 24-minute nonstop flight from Melbourne.

The aircraft crossed three continents and two oceans, covering approximately 12,460 nautical miles (23,076 km) while experiencing two sunrises and two sunsets along the way.
