Silver Star Preservation Award
(Stay tuned, we will be judging cars for this award in our upcoming events.)
To be eligible, the vehicle must be at least 25 years old and it should be in good working order, driven under its’ own power to the event and be largely original. Your eligible car should have an original engine and drivetrain. There can be partial refurbishments of various components, but no complete restorations can be accepted.

This class is for cars, 25 years old or older that are largely original and have been unrestored since new. It is intended for driver- quality cars that have withstood the ravages of time, climate and daily driving. It is not intended for “Trailer Queens”-for those we have a Show Class- nor is it intended for rusty and dirty barn finds that do not operate properly and have not been on the road for several years.

At the event each Silver Star entrant will be given a Silver Star Preservation classification Score Sheet and be instructed how to complete it. The cars are self-judged by the entrant following the form. On the form, the owner informs the judges which aspects of the car are entirely original and which aspects have been altered over time. A Preservation Class Judge, assigned by the Concours Chief Judge will review the completed form with the entrant, evaluating each aspect of the car. If the car has earned enough points to be certified, the Chief Judge and the Class Judge verify the findings and initial the form. A digital photo of the entrant’s car in JPEG format is taken at the show and the completed classification form along with the photo is forwarded to the MBCA National Business Office. The MBCA National Business Office will create and send to the owner an official Silver Star Certificate formally declaring the car to have met the standards of the Silver Star Preservation Class. The owner may also purchase a specially designed grille badge from the MBCA National Business Office.

2025 Christmas Dinner for the North Texas Section – Mercedes-Benz Club
40 Members of the North Texas Mercedes-Benz Club met at Aurther’s Restaurant for our annual Christmas Party. Arthur’s is a fine dining restaurant and the dinner was great. After dinner the folks were entertained by Suzann and Mark Smith with traditional Christmas Music. The music was fun with the group also singing along with old favorites. After the entertainment memorial tributes were made for recent friends and members who passed away this past year. Hyatt Cheek was the founder of our Dallas Club, served as president of the national organization and long-time member. Craig Halverson was the past president of the Dallas Club and served for years as our treasurer and a long-time member of our club. John Moyer was a long-time member, and he was a resource to members with a great knowledge of all things for cars from driving, mechanical and restoration. All will be missed!
Jerry Chenault announced Gayle Brewer as the Member of the Year for 2025. Congratulations to Gayle.
Eric Van der Velden our new President spoke to the members and introduced our new board members for 2026.
And at last, the annual White Elephant raffle was held and as always it was great fun with interesting prizes for all.
It was nice having time during the evening for visiting with friends. Now for 2026, looking forward to a great year with cars, friends and the open road!
