“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’” — Isaiah 6:8

Yesterday I graduated from the fire academy.

16 weeks ago, I stepped into something that I knew would challenge me—but I didn’t fully understand how much it would stretch me mentally, physically, and emotionally. This journey stripped things down. It exposed weaknesses, tested limits, and forced me to grow in ways I couldn’t have replicated anywhere else.

There were long days, early mornings, exhaustion that didn’t go away, and moments where doubt tried to creep in. But somewhere along the way, I realized something important: I’m stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. There’s another gear in me—and when things got hard, I learned how to find it.

It’s also not lost on me how meaningful it is to be part of Graduating Class #100. That’s something bigger than just a number—it’s a legacy. I’m honored to have been alongside such a strong group of men and women, all pushing each other to be better every single day.

This wasn’t just my journey, though.

Behind the scenes, my wife carried more than most people will ever see. She held down our home, loved on our kids, and gave me the space to chase this calling—even on the days when it wasn’t easy. The weight of this season didn’t fall evenly, and she carried more than her share with strength and grace. I wouldn’t be here without her.

This academy didn’t just train me to be a firefighter. It refined my discipline, deepened my perspective, and strengthened my faith. It reminded me why I started—and Who I’m doing it for.

As I step into this next chapter, I’m ready to serve my community with everything I have. To show up on people’s worst days with steady hands, a clear mind, and a heart that’s ready to help. To bring calm in chaos, and to carry the responsibility of this calling with humility and purpose.

Here am I. Send me.

Toyota // 7-Eleven

The best kind of shoot is when the client gives you the green light to just go make something cool.

No overthinking. Just trust and the freedom to create.

That’s where the magic happens, when you can lean into ideas, push things a little further, and build something you’re proud of.

Grateful for clients who trust the process. This one was a fun one!

Six decades of design distilled into one timeless silhouette — the 2024 911 ST.

Every line, every curve, every detail feels like it’s been perfected over generations, yet somehow remains utterly modern. It’s a car that doesn’t just age gracefully; it defines what graceful even means. From the sweeping roofline to the poised stance, it’s a statement that engineering and art can coexist in perfect harmony.

And yet, there’s a cheeky grin hidden in that elegance. The 911 ST isn’t just a museum piece; it’s alive, ready to bite, to dance, to remind you that performance is just as important as beauty. Driving it is a dialogue — one foot on the accelerator, one hand on history, and your senses fully awake to every nuance of the road.

It’s rare to find something that honors its past while daring to excite the present. The 911 ST is exactly that: a masterclass in restraint and exhilaration, where every detail whispers, and every roar shouts. Six decades, refined, sharpened, and unleashed.

Ever tried explaining to your kids what you do for a living? This was my chance to show them.

Earlier this year, Sunoco asked us to shoot their new 94 Octane campaign. It’s become one of my favorite projects we get to shoot every year — not just in the work itself, but in the little moments that follow after the cameras stop rolling.

Yesterday, while driving down Dallas North Tollway, I spotted one of our shots displayed at a Sunoco station off the exit. Naturally, I asked if we could pull over — not because we needed gas, but because I wanted to show my kids something special.

It’s important to note (and yes, I’m a proud dad here) that my 5 and 3-year-old both immediately pointed out that it was a Porsche in the picture — before realizing it was a photo Dad had taken. Safe to say, they’re already gearheads.

As a creative, you spend countless late nights and weekends chasing that perfect frame. There are deadlines, revisions, and hours that don’t always make sense to little ones wondering why “dad’s working again.” But standing there at the pump, pointing to a poster bigger than life, I got to show them what all those hours translate to in the real world.

That stop wasn’t just a pit stop — it was a full circle moment I’ll never forget.

And of course, we couldn’t leave without filling up with Sunoco 94 — had to make sure we were getting maximum power out of the family car.

Shoutout to the best team who make this all possible!

Uncaged.

The sun’s still up, but the streets already know who’s coming.

Godzilla doesn’t ask permission.

This isn’t nostalgia—this is power living in the moment.

Passing the Torch

At 3.5-years-old, he’s already a car fanatic.

Every once in a while, I get to bring Brooks along on shoots, and there’s something special about seeing cars through his eyes. The excitement, the wonder, the questions about every engine, badge, or exhaust note — it all reminds me why I fell in love with this work in the first place.

Sharing what I do with my kids has become one of the unexpected gifts of this career. My other son’s first photoshoot? A Ferrari F40 when he was just two weeks old. Not a bad introduction to the car world!

It’s easy to get so caught up in deadlines and client needs that you forget the bigger picture — that your work is a living example for your family of what passion and dedication look like.

I hope they remember these moments. And maybe one day, they’ll find their own “thing” that lights them up the way cars and photography do for me.

How do you share your passion with the next generation?
