Today I was reminded that I’m on a list.
And I consider it a damn badge of honor.
I’m proud to be on this list — and my clients are proud I’m on it too.
An adjuster I’ve had several heated discussions with finally admitted it: his company keeps a list of “problem shops.” He named mine — Rusty's Bodywerks — along with just three others within a 75-mile radius. Four shops total that refuse to cut corners on collision repairs.
I’m on that list because we follow the manufacturer’s repair procedures. Because we stand up for our clients and make sure they get the correct repairs their policy is supposed to cover. Because I file complaints when insurance companies break the rules, and because I refuse to put families back in unsafe vehicles just to keep the insurance company happy.
Let that sink in.
Insurance companies literally keep a list of shops that fix cars correctly… and they call us the problem.
If your shop isn’t on that list, you’re doing something wrong.
Safe repairs save lives. Period.
I know there are a lot of shop owners, managers, and technicians on my friends list. I’m encouraging every single one of you to get on this list.
Customers want their vehicles repaired properly. They don’t want shortcuts, and they sure as hell don’t care if it upsets the insurance company. They just want their car fixed right — and they deserve that.
Proud to be a “problem shop.”
Who’s ready to join me on the list?
— Rusty
