Washington State-

" A towing company along Highway 97A in Entiat has suffered its third major fire in the last eight months.
This one broke out close to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the office building of Stormin Towing, 14449 Highway 97A, directly next to the trailer where the owners live. The fire damaged the trailer and destroyed the business office.
The owners, Norman and Marie Stenberg, were not harmed, but their trailer is now uninhabitable. Family and supporters have started a GoFundMe campaign to help the Stenbergs, whose personal property was uninsured.
A previous fire in January destroyed one of the company's towing rigs. The fire response and the drifting smoke Saturday forced the Washington State Patrol to close Highway 97A for about three and a half hours. "

NOTE: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated the time when the structure fire was reported.

" CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A woman who needed her car towed from a domestic violence shelter says the company now won’t give it back after charging for repairs she says she didn’t ask for.
Tenasia Benjamin called Ray Harris Towing because she needed her car towed. She says she was transferring between domestic violence shelters but the key fob for her Buick wasn’t working.
Text messages show Benjamin was charged a $275 tow fee and also needed her key fob fixed. Cash App screenshots show she paid more than $500 over the course of a month. But text messages show the price was changed to $550, then $600, then $1,300 for various repair, diagnostic and storage services Benjamin said she didn’t ask for. "

" Some words come with so many built-in associations that they don’t need explaining. Case in point, all we have to do is write, “WhistlinDiesel, a Ford F-150, a Tesla Cybertruck, Moab, and Matt’s Off Road Recovery,” and you don’t even need to fill in the blanks because there aren’t any.
The short story is that Mr. Diesel, as Matt refers to him in the video, was putting two of his crash test dummy trucks through the Utah wringer. Neither survived. Hence the tow. This video features a cameo appearance by Rory Irish, a Moab local Matt refers to as “Mayor,” but that’s an informal nickname. Irish’s skills here aren’t political, rather, he seems just the kind of guy you want for rescue help no matter the rig.
If you want the full story, you’ll find all the elaboration on the rescues, the wreckage, and the tows in the video, so check it out. "

" He was a hired high school hitman in Toronto’s escalating tow-truck wars.
Just 16, the young gun for hire was paid to assassinate Sulakshan “Sully” Selvasingam, and on the night of July 6, 2024, he coolly gunned down the 28-year-old tow-truck owner in his white Mercedes SUV at the Shell gas station at Warden Ave. and Ellesmere Rd.
According to an agreed statement of facts at his guilty plea to first-degree murder, the teen — who can be identified only as A.P. — received instructions from an “adult” a day earlier on how to execute his target: he was to shoot Selvasingam in the body and when he went down, finish him off with a bullet to the head. He was told to record the murder and send confirmation for payment. "

He was just 16 when he was paid to scout out the whereabouts of tow truck driver Sulakshan "Sully" Selvasingam and gun him down.

The owner is Jermaine Montague, who is the second generation of his family in Avon Park. His mother was in the military, so he lived for a time in Hawaii and Tampa; later, he returned to the place where he grew up, where he would eventually open his business.

Butte County Towing Business Files Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit After Removal From Rotation List
BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. — John Tracy, owner of 3J Oil Medics, LLC, doing business as 3J Towing, has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Butte County and several current and former public officials following the company’s removal from the county towing rotation.
According to the lawsuit, 3J Towing participated in the county’s towing rotation system from 2013 until its removal and invested substantial resources in equipment, training, and services for local law enforcement and the public.
The lawsuit alleges that on October 24, 2023, the company was permanently removed from the rotation after county officials claimed it had violated a court order. Tracy contends that neither he nor his wife, the company’s registered agents, were ever properly served with the order. He alleges that a sheriff’s deputy delivered it to a new employee rather than serving the registered agents as required.
Tracy also alleges that statements made during public county meetings suggested that criminal charges were pending against him and his company. According to Tracy, court records show no such charges existed against either him or 3J Towing at the time.
“The damage to our business was immediate and devastating,” Tracy said. “We spent years building our reputation and serving this community. We believe we were denied a fair opportunity to defend ourselves before being removed from the rotation.”
The lawsuit seeks damages for lost business income, reputational harm, alleged constitutional violations, injunctive relief, and other remedies the court deems appropriate.
Tracy says he spent the past two years gathering public records, meeting transcripts, audio recordings, court documents, and other evidence related to the case.
“This case is about accountability and due process,” Tracy said. “No business owner should lose their livelihood based on accusations they never had a chance to challenge.”
The case is pending in the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota under Case No. 5:26-CV-05041-KES.
