As Vicki posted on the farm page, a legend was lost today. My shop dog Raton passed away earlier. He was a fierce defender of whatever was in his circle of influence. Didn’t matter if that was the shop, me, the family, or anyone in the car with him. He was always “On duty”. When I took him camping and we would go for walks, he always patrolled on ahead to check the path, then double back too clear what was behind us. Constantly on alert. He was a lot of fun in his prime. The only officially trained dog I have ever owned. While our shepherds here at the farm are pretty responsive. Raton took it to another level!!! I truly believe if a situation had ever occurred where Raton would have needed to give his life to protect Me or the family, he most certainly would have done so. You will be forever remembered and missed. Farewell my freind🥺
