Polishing is a great way to remove scratches... on GLOSS-finish paint. If you try to polish a matte finish, you'll irreparably damage the matte appearance, creating a sickly shine that can only be fixed via expensive re-painting.

Matte finishes require a micro-textured clear coat in order to diffuse light rays and prevent the specular reflection seen on glossy paint. If you polish this texture down or fill it in with wax, you lose the hazy sheen that makes the matte appearance so unique.

A complete solution for restoring and protecting exterior rubber and plastic, the TRIM & TIRE COATING KIT combines deep cleaning with advanced ceramic protection for long-lasting results. Remove browning and buildup, restore a deep black finish, and protect surfaces from future fading, grime, and contamination.

👁️ RESTORES FADED TRIM & TIRES
🛡️ CERAMIC PROTECTION THAT LASTS MONTHS
💦 HYDROPHOBIC, NON-GREASY FINISH
📦 COMPLETE SYSTEM KIT

🛠️ INSTRUCTIONS

1. CLEAN SURFACES 🧼
Rinse tires and trim to remove loose dirt and debris. Apply Foaming Tire Cleanser liberally to tire sidewalls and exterior plastic/rubber trim. Agitate with the included tire scrub brush as needed, then rinse thoroughly. Continue cleaning until the foam turns bright white, indicating the surface is fully clean. Heavy contamination may require additional rinsing and scrubbing.

2. PREP FOR COATING 🛡️
Make sure all surfaces are completely dry before coating. Any remaining moisture or contamination may affect bonding and performance.

3. APPLY TIRE COATING 🛞
Apply Tire Coating Pro to the Tire Conditioner Applicator. Spread evenly across the tire sidewall and work into the rubber. Allow the coating to absorb fully before moving the vehicle.

4. APPLY TRIM COATING 🚙
Apply Trim Coating Pro to the 5" Coating Applicator or a microfiber towel. Spread evenly across plastic and rubber trim. After a few seconds, re-wipe to level the coating, remove excess and create a uniform appearance.

5. BUILD IF NEEDED ⬆️
For deeper color or added protection, apply additional layers after the first layer has absorbed. Multiple layers can improve appearance on heavily faded surfaces.

6. FINAL WIPE 👋
Inspect all treated areas and wipe away excess product with a clean microfiber towel.

7. LET CURE ⏲️
Allow coatings to cure before exposing surfaces to water or driving. Avoid moisture during the initial curing period.

Using a bendy brush for wheel barrels? Don't just scrub back and forth. USE the bendy handle as LEVERAGE to increase pressure on the barrel so contamination comes off easier.

You can find Wheel Woolies and the EZ Brush on Amazon pretty easily. We don't sell them on Dr. Beasley's, so this isn't an ad or anything. I just really like these brushes.

Just washing your windshield isn't enough to get it clean. Road grime sticks to the glass and creates a film that regular glass cleaners can't remove. You would need to use a clay bar, towel or mitt to remove that stubborn contamination.

Thankfully there's an easy way to tell if your windshield is contaminated enough to need clay. Just grab a plastic sandwich bag, place it over your hand, then glide your fingers across the windshield. If you feel bumps, your windshield is contaminated and needs a clay bar treatment. If it's smooth, you're good to go.

Neglected Mustang here for ’s detailing class this weekend in Stuart, Florida.

The paint is trashed - which is great for the students - but the tires are also an absolute mess of browning, grime and general traffic film, too.

Mike thought it would be the perfect demonstration for our new Trim & Tire Coating Kit from the lab of .

This is a new kit for trim and tires that does away with the dressings, dyes and conditioners and replaces them with durable, surface-specific ceramic coatings: Tire Coat Pro and Trim Coat Pro.

Also included (as you see in the video) is our new Foaming Tire Cleanser, which is an absolute beast at dissolving all that grimy brake dust.

Early access for the kit is closing Monday. Head to the link in bio, get signed up for our emails and we’ll send over the early access link! $94.99 retail — all accessories included at no additional cost.

❌ It wasn't your application. It was the dressing itself that set you up for failure.

You’ve seen the same pattern play out.

You apply a dressing. Tires come out deep and dark. The vehicle feels finished.

Then a week or two later, after rain or a couple washes, the tires start to brown again and the trim fades back toward gray.

It shows up on daily drivers, garage-kept cars, even vehicles that were prepped carefully.

At some point, most people assume they did something wrong. In reality, the outcome was built into the product from the beginning.

Most of these products rely on silicone oils, emulsions, or solvent carriers that sit on top of the surface. They darken rubber and plastic because they change how light reflects and how the surface wets.

But they are not anchored in a meaningful way. They rely on physical adhesion and weak intermolecular forces, not chemical bonding.

Once exposed to water, detergents, heat, and road friction, that layer is removed.

What’s left is the same surface you started with.

But there's something better coming.

Something that actually bonds with the rubber. Something that transforms the surface behavior entirely.

Contaminant resistance. Hydrophobicity. UV protection. A near-permanent, dark black look.

It's all here — long-term.

Early access is open now. Link in bio.

NEW Trim & Tire Coating Kit — Early Access Now Open — More Details Below

From Dr. Beasley's formulator :

I’ve been formulating products for tires and trim for a long time. One of my first products was a tire dressing that I called a "conditioner" because it did so much more to nourish and moisturize the rubber.

But it was still a dressing. It still sat on top of the rubber and washed away easily. After a couple weeks, a wash, or a bad rainstorm and it was gone.

And it did nothing to alter the actual behavior of the tire. No contamination resistance. No water repellency. Just normal rubber.

Years passed and I focused on other products. But this lack of durability stuck with me. Eventually, I realized a durable solution for rubber was going to have to be a ceramic coating: something that actually bonds with the material and transforms the surface to create new behaviors and responses to environmental stimuli.

This is where the new Trim & Tire Coating Kit enters the picture. Inside the kit includes my new ceramic coatings, Tire Coat Pro and Trim Coat Pro, along with a Foaming Tire Cleanser to prep both surfaces plus applicators, a scrub brush and microfiber towels.

FORMULATED TO DEEP CLEAN & RESTORE SURFACES
Tires and trim take constant abuse from the road. Over time, oxidation, browning, road film, and leftover dressings build up on the surface, leaving rubber dull and plastic faded. Most products simply layer shine over that contamination, delivering short-lived results. This system is different—it’s built to fully clean and reset the surface first, so restoration products can bond properly and bring back a deep, uniform, factory-new appearance.

CERAMIC COATING TECHNOLOGY - BONDS FOR LASTING PROTECTION
Once surfaces are properly cleaned, protection is built to last. Tire Coating Pro and Trim Coating Pro use advanced ceramic coating technology to bond directly to rubber and plastic, forming a thin, durable layer. This bonded protection enhances color while resisting water, grime, and environmental contamination. The result is a consistent, non-greasy finish that won’t sling, streak, or wash away after a few drives.

COMPLETE SYSTEM - DURABILITY THAT LASTS
This isn’t a temporary cosmetic fix—it’s a complete restoration system designed for longevity. By combining deep cleaning with proper surface preparation and ceramic protection, it restores faded trim and tire appearance while helping maintain that look over time. With regular washing and minimal upkeep, your tires stay darker, your trim stays richer, and your exterior surfaces continue to look clean and well-maintained with durable, long-lasting protection.

Clay towels have one big advantage over bars, discs and mitts...

They fold. Which means you can get into tight areas more easily.

They're also a lot more forgiving if you drop them. 9 times out of 10, you can just walk over to your sink, rinse it off and get back to work.

And before you say this is an advertisement for Nanoskin... I work at Dr. Beasley's. We don't even SELL clay towels on our site, yet I'm advocating for them. That should tell you something about how incredibly useful they are!

It's not about "being careful". It's about leaving a buffer for addressing future defects.

If you use the most aggressive pads and products to remove light swirls, you're removing more clear coat than necessary to level those fine, surface-level defects.

"But I've got plenty of clear to work with, I won't burn the paint."

That may be true, but now you'll have less clear coat to work with if you ever need to remove bug splatter etching or an isolated deeper scratch.

So remember: using the least aggressive pad and polish isn't about avoiding burning the paint. It's about keeping as much clear coat as possible for addressing future problems.

Cross-contaminating wheel brushes and wash mitts? Not here.

You absolutely need to have separate buckets for washing the paint and washing the wheels and tires. The brake dust particles you find on wheels and tires will absolutely scratch the paint if they get caught up in your wash mitt.
