🏁🏍️ CJ’S FIRST ENDURO RACE — THE SAND WON A FEW BATTLES, BUT NOT THE WAR! 😂❤️

Yesterday, CJ tackled his very first Enduro race, and I couldn’t be more proud of this kid!

A 5 AM wake-up call, a two-hour drive, an unfamiliar course, experienced riders, challenging terrain, and one stubborn 15-year-old who apparently doesn’t know when to quit! 😂 This was one of the longest and toughest rides he’s had in a long time!

Reflecting on the race during our drive home and again this morning, CJ had some pretty memorable things to say:

💬 “I thought I was going to p**s my pants probably six times!” 🤣

💬 “I fell on EVERY corner that had sand and had to pick my bike back up.”

💬 “I feel like I’m going to puke.”

💬 “My body hurts in places I didn’t even know could hurt.”

💬 “I might’ve re-injured myself, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat!”

💬 “The adrenaline rush is what kept me going.”

And my favorite…

❤️ “I picked my bike up every single time on my own. I kept going, and I got off the track with a smile on my face.”

And can we talk about the DUST?! 🌪️🤣

I’m pretty sure we inhaled, swallowed, and wore enough dirt to become part of the racetrack ourselves! We’re STILL peeling layers of dust out of our hair, off our faces, and somehow even out of our TEETH! I’m convinced we’ll be finding sand in places it has absolutely no business being until Christmas! 😂

He even managed to fix his bike before we made it home, met some incredible people, and got to race alongside his mentor!

As his mom, yesterday wasn’t about placement, speed, or how many times he fell.

It was about watching my son do something incredibly difficult, get knocked down, pick himself and his bike back up, and keep going. Every. Single. Time. ❤️

Life will knock you down plenty of times, CJ. My hope is that you always have the courage to get back up, dust yourself off (literally in this case 🤣), and keep moving forward.

He didn’t need a trophy yesterday. He proved something far more important to himself.

And despite barely being able to move today, he’d do it all again in a heartbeat!

Meanwhile, I’m just hoping we get all the dirt out of our ears before the next race! 😂🏁

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. ❤️

One of the best rides this fall something about everything finally just clicking and letting that throttle go, the freedom of the week in few laps.

09/01/2026

There are some days when I look at my 15-year-old and genuinely wonder where all of this motivation, determination, and knowledge fits inside that head of his. ❤️

This kid worked two jobs all summer — not because I made him and not because he was saving for the newest phone, expensive shoes, or video games.

He worked because he has a dream.

Vintage motocross bikes. 🏁🏍️

At 15 years old, he has managed to collect almost FIVE vintage bikes. Three are already together, and two more are waiting to be brought back to life. His goal is to have them ready before March so he can get out there and race vintage motocross.

And these aren’t just motorcycles sitting in the garage.

He researches. He hunts for parts. He saves his money. He learns what fits what, what year something came from, how an engine works, what needs rebuilt and what he needs to do next.

Sometimes I listen to him explain something about one of these bikes and realize I have absolutely NO IDEA what he’s talking about. 😂 But he does.

And that’s what makes me so proud.

Now summer is ending and he’s heading back to school full-time as a 10th grader, which means working two jobs isn’t going to be quite as easy. But his dream hasn’t changed. He wants to spend this winter building, learning and getting these bikes ready for spring.

So I’m going to do something that’s a little uncomfortable for me as his mom and put this out there.

If anyone would like to support what he’s working toward, even in the smallest way, we are putting together an Amazon list of the motorcycle parts and supplies he still needs. And if you’d rather just throw a few dollars toward his next part, you can do that too.

This isn’t about expecting anyone to buy things for him. He’s already shown that he’s willing to work for what he wants.

It’s about showing a kid that people notice hard work.

Sometimes supporting a kid doesn’t mean buying fundraiser cookie dough or sponsoring a school team. Sometimes it means looking at a young person who’s working incredibly hard toward something and saying:

“I see what you’re doing. Keep going.”

He’s 15. He doesn’t care about drinking. He doesn’t care about drugs. He hardly plays video games unless it’s raining and he can’t get outside or into the garage.

Give him an old motorcycle, some tools and a problem nobody else can figure out, and he’s happy.

Now… would I also like him to learn that dirty clothes actually belong IN the laundry basket? Absolutely. 😂

Would I love a clean bedroom? YES.

Would I like him to learn to cook and take care of all those everyday things his mother currently does for him? Definitely.

But I’ve realized something.

He’s learning how to become a man in his own way.

He’s learning to work for what he wants.

He’s learning to save money.

He’s learning that things don’t magically appear because you want them.

He’s learning to research, problem-solve, use his hands, make mistakes, fix them and try again.

He’s learning responsibility and independence through something he genuinely loves.

So for now, I’ll happily help with the laundry, clean up behind him once in a while, make sure he’s fed and keep encouraging the dream. ❤️

As the parent financially supporting him, I simply can’t fund every motorcycle, engine, part and project that comes along — especially now that school is starting again. But I will do everything I can to help him keep moving forward.

And if anyone else wants to be part of encouraging this kid this winter, whether it’s $5 toward a part, something from his Amazon parts list, an old vintage motocross part sitting in your garage, sharing this post, or simply telling him to keep going, I know it would mean more to him than he would probably ever admit.

I’ll add his Amazon parts list here too once we get everything he needs organized.

Because kids who are willing to work this hard at 15 deserve to know that people notice.

I’m incredibly proud of you, kid. ❤️

Keep building. Keep learning. Keep getting your hands dirty.

I’ll work on the laundry. 😂❤️🏍️🔧🏁

And seriously… does anybody else have a 15-year-old who dreams about vintage motocross bikes like mine does?!

This is how the garage REALLY looks when we tear down a bike. 😅

Not a clean shop tour. KX on the stand, plastics off, wheels off, chain and seat on the floor, tools everywhere. This is normal here.

A bunch of you asked what we actually use, so I linked my favorites below. These are in my Amazon storefront so you can find them all in one spot.

Monsters are my go to drink before any race or when I know I am headed out for a long ride.

Some people are impossible to please. As soon as they get what they thought they wanted they always want more. Our team riders and Monster Girls are no different… they’ve been dropping some hints lately. They’ve been asking us for a new Monster drink. Monster Zero Ultra a.k.a. the "White Monst...

🏁 SHOP AMAZON? YOU CAN HELP CJ RACE — WITHOUT SPENDING AN EXTRA PENNY! 🏁

I wanted to explain CJ’s Amazon link because I don’t think everyone realizes how it works!

If you already shop on Amazon, you can help support CJ’s motocross racing simply by starting your Amazon shopping through his link. ❤️🏍️

👉 SAVE/BOOKMARK THIS LINK:

https://www.amazon.com/shop/michiganhotmom

Here’s the cool part:

You DON’T have to buy the item the link originally takes you to.

Click CJ’s link first → then search Amazon and shop like you normally would.

Need dog food? Shop normally.
School supplies? Shop normally.
Birthday present? Shop normally.
Household stuff? Shop normally.

If you make qualifying purchases during the eligible Amazon shopping session, Amazon may give us a small commission — and it doesn’t increase your price at all.

So if you’re willing to support CJ, save this link somewhere on your phone and click it BEFORE you start your next Amazon shopping trip.

Those little commissions can add up toward things like race fees, bike parts, repairs, gear, fuel and travel and help a 15-year-old continue working toward a sport and future he absolutely loves. 🏁

You can also follow his storefront here:

And please feel free to SHARE this post with anyone who already shops Amazon. It costs them nothing extra, but those purchases could make a difference for CJ throughout his racing season.

Thank you for supporting Camdin “CJ” James Racing! 🖤🏍️🏁
