FOAM FROM THE EXHAUST DOESN’T MEAN THE DPF IS CLEAN — AND IT CERTAINLY DOESN’T MEAN THE ASH HAS BEEN REMOVED.
In this video, we take a closer look at one of the biggest misconceptions in DPF cleaning: *what is actually being removed from the filter?*
A DPF can contain **soot, carbon deposits and inorganic ash**, and these materials behave very differently during the cleaning process.
When soap, TFR or other foaming products are used, the appearance of thick foam flowing from the exhaust can look impressive — but *foam exiting the tailpipe is not proof that ash has been removed from the DPF.*
So what is actually happening?
This video explains the difference between conventional *foaming/soap-based cleaning* and a chemical cleaning process using **chelation**.

Rather than simply creating foam and breaking down surface contamination, a properly formulated chelating chemistry is designed to interact with and bind to inorganic ash particles, helping to mobilise them so they can be removed from the DPF system.
