1954 Chevy Pickup Road Trip | Ringbrothers + Roadster Shop

What started as a road trip from Charleston, SC, to Princeton, Minnesota, to pick up a 1954 Chevy pickup turned into one heck of an adventure!

On the way home, I got to visit two legendary hot rod shops, Ringbrothers and Roadster Shop.

A HUGE thank-you to both teams for the incredible hospitality, taking the time to show me around, and making a fellow car guy feel right at home. The craftsmanship in these shops is absolutely uunreal!

And I have to say, the friendliness and hospitality throughout the Midwest have been just as memorable as the cars.

Now we're headed south with a '54 Chevy in tow, making our way to the C10 Fall Revival!

Sometimes the journey is just as good as the destination. 😎

Well, it’s official. Rusty Pickle is for sale. 🥒

My 1969 Chevrolet C10 is officially looking for its next home.

Rusty Pickle wears its true original patina, professionally clear-coated, but underneath that old-school exterior is an entirely different animal.

Forged 5.7L LS. Intercooled 2.3L Whipple. Built 4L80E. Ford 9-inch. Wilwood brakes. Dominator air bags. Raceline wheels. Vintage Air. Power windows. Completely redone interior and electrical system.

And yes, it makes 558 horsepower at the rear wheels on 93-octane pump gas.

It has the stance and character that made me fall in love with patina trucks in the first place, with a modern drivetrain and amenities that make it an absolute blast to drive.

No filters. No polish. Just raw character. These were the patina trucks that stood out the most for me at Dino’s this year. Every one of them tells a story and no two are alike.
