From 6 a.m. March 12 through 6 a.m. on March 15, motorists in Lexington and Richland County can expect to see increased law enforcement presence as part of a multi-agency Area Coordinated Enforcement (ACE) initiative to reduce collisions and highway fatalities in our state. Enforcement will take place on I-77, I-26, I-20, US-378, US-321, US-1, US-176, US-76, US-52, US-15, SC-602, SC-302, SC-60, SC-151, SC-34.
Participating law enforcement agencies include the South Carolina Highway Patrol, State Transport Police, Batesburg-Leesville Police Department, Cayce Police Department, City of Columbia Police Department, West Columbia Police Department, Springdale Police Department, Gaston Police Department, Pelion Police Department, Pine Ridge Police Department, Irmo Police Department, Chapin Police Department, Lexington County Sheriff's Department and Richland County Sheriff's Department.
This enforcement effort includes multi-agency coordination to enhance our efforts to keep everyone on the road safe. Troopers and officers will focus on enforcing all traffic violations with a special emphasis on violations that are commonly associated with collisions involving serious injuries or death.
