Next conversion project! Who does not love a vintage VW Beetle? Ok, let me rephrase that...who doesn't love a VW Beetle with a Tesla motor and 150 mile range that will always "start"? Electric Classic Cars in England will provide the conversion kit and this one is going to the beaches of Nantucket MA this summer.

Ok...Tesla motor power and electric power steering in an old Land Rover 2A is feeling so right. Original 0-60mph time was 32 seconds. Oh, it'll be faster for sure but I'll have to wait until spring to do a full road test.

Awesome progress on the Land Rover 2A conversion this winter. Starting to look like a classic Rover again. Battery pack, motor, chargers, controller, elec. power assist steering, custom parking brake, charge socket and more are installed. Now it just needs some wires. Lot's and lot's of wires.

Well, the custom engineered parts to support the Fellten battery pack are welded to the '69 Landy 2A frame. Success! They support the card board box replica perfectly. Ok, I guess the real test of success will be if they support the 750 lb Fellten box as intended. No doubt in my mind since Mitch G did the structural calcs to prove it out first. Stay tuned...

Well, it happens every year in New England....winter😢. Coming to terms with my final month to drive my electric classic. Over 3,500 flawless miles on the ElectricGT drivetrain this year! Gonna try to squeeze in another 500 before snow falls and really test the electric heat system.

The '69 LR 2A chassis rebuild is complete! Tesla motor and Fellten battery pack installation next. This is one Rover that everyone will notice coming down the road.
