It was a Cub Cadet kind of day at Wally’s Garage. Servicing one and getting the second one ready to put on Marketplace for sale.
Ran into a little bit of a challenge with the threads on one of the front tires. The threads that the grease fitting threads into pulled out. Without a shallow tap we improvised and welded a 1/4” nut in place to thread the fitting into.

While servicing a riding mower for a customer, upon inspecting the blades we discovered a little excessive wear. Needless to say, as part of the service we replaced the blades with a heavy duty pair of mulching blades from Rotary Corporation.

Back from the dead and ready for a new home.

Craftsman YT4000 riding mower with a 42 inch deck. Professionally serviced - engine oil/oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs changed, new blades, deck leveled, new battery and a new seat.

Only 82.8 hours on the hour meter!

Oopsie…customer contacted us and indicated they had a problem with one of their deck spindles after accidentally hitting some rocks with the blades engaged.

Spinning mower blades and rocks don’t mix!

We installed a new spindle and blade onsite minimizing the customers down time.

Husqvarna….we have a problem.

Customer contacted us stating his mower would not move. We picked it up and upon inspecting and troubleshooting the issue we found significant damage.

1) The mounting tabs where the transmission mounts to frame are cracked. We discovered that this is a common problem, so common they make a repair kit to address the issue.

2) When the transmission mounting tabs cracked the transmission itself tipped forward and was pushed upward. This caused the transmission cooling fan to come in contact with the battery box/tray. The transmission along with the fan kept running which rubbed through the plastic tray and eventually through the bottom of the battery itself.

3) The acid solution drained out of the battery landing mostly on the transmission causing surface corrosion.

4) The left frame rail welds broke free from the rear frame/draw bar.

5) The right frame rail is cracked and twisted.

Needless to say we recommended replacing the mower. As a service to our customers we offer a free consultation when they are in the market for a new mower.

Customer contacted us stating his Cub Cadet LT1042 stopped moving. We picked it up, got it back to the shop and quickly discovered the transmission drive belt was bad. Along with replacing the belt, as a precaution, we also removed and replaced the three idler pulleys. We finished it up and delivered back to the customer. , ,

Busy Saturday morning at Wally’s Garage today. We completed the repairs on four mowers and delivered them back to our customers by 10:30 AM.
1) Drive belt and idler pulley replaced on the Ariens zero turn.
2) Blade sharpening on the John Deere X300.
3) Drive belt and idler pulleys replaced on the John Deere 155C
4)Blade replacement on the Honda walk behind

If your mower came with a wash out port we recommend using it. We also recommend using a leaf blower to remove any debris from the top of your deck.

A repeat customer contacted us regarding excessive wear and fraying of the deck belt on his mower. Upon inspection we found one of the idler pulley bearings failed. As a precaution all three idler pulleys were replaced along with the belt. We were able to quickly source the parts and get the mower back to the customer in only a few days.
