After fighting the weather early on , we finally got track dried out and it ended up turning into a really good day of racing. Honestly, it didn’t look great at 7am —especially with it being a green track that hadn’t been touched since October—but once it came around, it came around quick.
Huge shoutout to Ricky James for the bracket win with Dan Scrivener and Tim Amato rounding out the top 3. Ron SanGiovanni for taking the outlaw win, with Ed Robinson and Christopher Scrivener taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. Both classes were loaded, so those weren’t easy ones to grab.
We had 20 cars between the two classes, got in about 3.5 hours of practice, and then just rolled straight into elims with zero track maintenance in between. Everyone was on PJ-1, so for the track to come around the way it did was pretty impressive.
Once it was ready, the field didn’t mess around. Guys were putting down competitive passes, many in the 5's with a best of 1.49, which is moving considering the conditions and the fact it was all spec prep.
Overall, it was one of those days where you had to fight it early, but once it came together, it turned into a fast, fun race. Definitely a solid turnaround from how it started.
I just want to thank everyone for the help and patience in drying, and getting the race in. It was a little hectic without my normal help, but you guys all stepped in to make it go smoothly! Special thanks to Stephane DesbiensruckeFreddy Leblancd Freddy Leblanc for making the trip down from Canada, appreciate you guys !
