CADILLAC ATTACK 21
in the books πͺπΌ
Had an amazing time this past week getting everything ready for the event and then racing. It was by far the biggest and best Cadillac Attack ever! π―
There are so many people to thank for contributing and helping put on such an awesome event. I hope that and I appreciate every single one of you! ππΌ
It was a tough week leading up to the event. Taking the car from no engine to the beast it was in the matter of days was no small feat. Then, making my first pass in the car in like a year, it was definitely a learning curve trying to figure out how to launch it with the amount of power it has. Day 1 I think I made 1 halfway decent pass, but every other time I shook the tires and just lit them up. I finally trained myself to roll into the throttle and was able to get it to leave, but that posed another problem, I was terribly slow on my reaction time off the light. This would haunt me all weekend. I was able to qualify 1st for my race class with a 9.82 pass. I was able to claw my way to the finals despite my slow reaction times. I was lucky to have the power on hand to chase them down. No such luck in the finals. π₯² The 2 fastest cars in the class faced each other. Once again I slept at the light and he didnβt. I was chasing him down at the finish, but just couldnβt make up the difference. Even so, I ended up running a personal best of 9.71 @ 144.5 mph. I canβt me mad at that! I still took home the runner up purse $500 and an extra $100 for the quickest ET of my class. πͺπΌ It is also important to note that my car was almost 300 lbs heavier than all the other cars in my class coming in at almost 4800 lbs! For this car to trap 145 mph at 4800 lbs is incredible! πͺπΌ I will figure out how to get some weight out of the car and get a lot of practice this year so I donβt sleep anymore. Iβll be ready for Cadillac Attack 22!
