🔧 Sometimes the biggest electrical headaches have the simplest solutions! ⚡🚗

We had a customer reach out about his Ford F-150 that was doing some pretty crazy things!

❌ Wouldn't crank with the key
⚡ Exterior lights flashing randomly
💡 Interior lights acting possessed
🔊 Strange noises coming from the truck

With all these symptoms, the customer was understandably worried he was looking at some serious electrical problems.

After digging into the electrical system and pulling apart the underside of the dashboard, we discovered something interesting!

Turns out, this truck used to belong to a pool company, and at some point, an aftermarket security system with a vehicle lockout feature had been installed.

We found some questionable wiring connections, traced them back to the aftermarket security module, and discovered that the system was preventing the truck from starting!

Once we identified the culprit and disconnected the faulty system, the truck was back up and running! 🔧✅

No expensive module replacements. No throwing parts at it. Just some good old-fashioned electrical troubleshooting!

This is exactly why proper diagnostics matter. What looks like a major electrical nightmare can sometimes turn out to be something relatively simple when you take the time to investigate instead of guessing.

🔧 1993 Ford E250 Steering Column Replacement in Franklin, Kentucky!

We made our way out to Franklin, KY, where a customer needed the entire steering column replaced on their 1993 Ford E250!

The customer already had the replacement ready to go, so we got the old one pulled out and the replacement installed!

One thing's for sure, I didn't know I was signing up to be a contortionist when I became a mechanic, but this job definitely put my flexibility to the test! 😂🤣

🔧 Now, about that engine...

This was a 2016 Chevy Trax 1.4L Turbo Ecotec that we recently serviced after the customer reported increased oil consumption and an oil leak.

We initially suspected an intake manifold gasket leak, but knowing these engines are notorious for PCV system failures, we ordered the parts to address that possibility. Sure enough, our suspicions were confirmed!

We installed an upgraded Dorman intake manifold and valve cover kit to address the common failure. We also discovered a failed factory wire crimp at the throttle body connector, so we replaced that connector as well.

Another customer back on the road and another job completed! 💪

🔧 Keeping Local Businesses Moving! 🛻🌱

We got a call from Ardon Lawns & Landscapes here in Bowling Green about an F-250 Super Duty work truck with a tailgate that wouldn't open.

When you're running a landscaping business, you're constantly loading and unloading tools and equipment. And when the tailgate on a truck that tall won't open, it makes things a little more difficult!

Fortunately, we were able to come out, track down the problem, and get their tailgate working good as new! 💪

But here's where it gets pretty cool...

I actually knew the owners of Ardon Lawns & Landscapes when I was just a little kid. From what my dad tells me, they even used to carry me around when I was a baby!

Funny how things come full circle. All those years ago, they were taking care of me, and now here I am taking care of one of their work trucks! 😂

Going through my camera roll and realized I never posted this one! 📸

We had the opportunity to do a pre-purchase inspection on this 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E for a customer all the way out in Phoenix, Arizona! 🌵

He had been calling around trying to find someone to inspect it and eventually got ahold of us. I was upfront with him that EVs aren't something I typically work on, but after doing a little research beforehand, I was able to get out there and perform a thorough inspection for him!

At the end of the day, he was happy with the results and had the vehicle shipped all the way to Phoenix!

🚗🔧 Another Pre-Purchase Inspection in the Books!

Huge shoutout and thank you to a great customer from Nashville, TN! He was looking at purchasing a 2017 Toyota Tacoma from Leachman Buick GMC and reached out to SoKY Pit Stop Mobile Mechanics for a pre-purchase inspection before making the trip.

After a thorough inspection and road test, we're happy to say we gave this Tacoma a clean bill of health! He's planning to come pick up his new truck in the next couple of days!

We also want to give a shoutout to Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac! From what we witnessed, they were transparent with the customer, addressed some concerns before the inspection, and really seemed to take care of their buyer. We always appreciate seeing businesses treat their customers right!
