Did you see the final results?? 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but when I look at old stuff like this…I don’t really see the problems. I see what it could be.
I don’t see the rust.
I don’t see the faded paint.
I don’t immediately start thinking about all the reasons it might not work.
I see the potential.
And once I can see it in my head, the rest is usually just a matter of figuring out how to get there. 😂
This old Emerson fan is a perfect example.
I saw it for sale on Facebook and immediately messaged the guy because I knew somebody else was going to grab it if I didn’t.
The second I looked at that round body, the big wraparound grille, and those crazy legs, I didn’t see an old rusty fan…
I saw a vintage hot rod.
Teal body.
Gloss black grille.
White top and bottom.
Bright pink accents.
Something that looked like it belonged in a 1950s custom garage instead of getting tossed in the corner because it was old.
So we tore it down, cleaned everything up, got some fresh paint on it, put it back together and…
IT WORKS.
It’s officially sitting in the office now keeping us cool, and the funniest part is that pretty much everybody who walks in and sees it wants it. 🤣
There’s just something cool about taking an old piece that most people would walk right past and giving it enough personality that suddenly everybody notices it.
That’s probably one of my favorite parts of building things.
You don’t always need to know exactly how you’re going to get there. Sometimes you just need to be able to see the potential first. The rest can be figured out.
So…what do you guys think about the finished product?
