Hi everyone— as many of you might assume, I’ve received an overwhelming number of calls, texts, and messages about snowblower repairs. I want to start by apologizing if you haven’t heard back from me yet. I simply can’t keep up with responding to everyone while also completing repairs.

As some of you may know, I no longer do this full time, and I am a mobile service. I’m not set up like a traditional shop that can take on multiple jobs at once or has a full parts room. While being mobile is more convenient, it’s also a slower process.

This John Deere’s motor couldn’t push past the compression stroke when trying to start. After confirming the mower had a healthy battery, valves had proper clearance and a few other common issues. The motor was diagnosed with a snapped compression release on the camshaft. New camshaft, seals, and gaskets were ordered. Motor was pulled and torn down and rebuilt back up with genuine Briggs and Stratton parts and mower is back to doing what it’s made to do.

This fuel injected Cub Cadet would fill the garage with smoke upon starting. After a few questions over the phone the diagnostic came down to a bad head gasket. One was ordered to have on hand and after an in person diagnostic to confirm, the head gasket was replaced and the machine no longer sets off the smoke alarms.
