Have you seen Bannerman Castle from the NY Route 218 outlook?

The island was purchased by Scottish arms dealer Francis Bannerman in 1900 to store his vast collection of military surplus goods. In 1920, there massive explosion of naval artillery shells and gunpowder.. and, in 1969, a fire left the structure in its current ruined state. Today, it's a historic site accessible via boat tours that offer walking tours of the castle ruins.
