Automobile Salesperson Skills and Qualifications:

-Meeting Sales Goals, Motivation for Sales, Selling to Customer Needs, Financial Skills, Documentation Skills, Scheduling, Telephone Skills, Listening, Verbal Communication, Customer Focus, Job Knowledge.
-Understands inventory by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features of different trim packages and year models. Comparing and contrasting competitive models and inspecting vehicles.
-Greets customers appropriately.
-Familiarize themselves with dealership software programs in order to keep notes on customers and be able to appropriately follow up.
-Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.
-Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
-Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; teaching customers about upkeep and maintenance on a vehicle and how important it is for the longevity of the vehicle.
-Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties from lenders, and financing options that best fits customers' credit.
-Provides sales management information by completing reports. Communicating effectively with management about leads and asking questions when needed.
-Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
-Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
-Moving vehicles safely around the dealership.

Job Requirements for Salesperson
-Able to read, write and speak English. (Spanish is a plus)
-Be on time for work and meetings
-Communicate with Management, Supervisors and Peers
-Learn dealership software
-Able to determine and accomplish tasks, priorities and goals without supervision.
