One debit card,
And a lifeguard whistle.

Now that’s a large haul for one day!

The weather was all over the place this weekend and there bumps in the road for him, but he ended on a high note. A big shoutout to Jamie Christopher for snagging his deepest recovery on the lake, thus far. An 80’ dive at Sunset Cove yielded an iPhone 14 and the phone was in perfect working order. Thanks for letting us get the picture, Kim.

Dive! Dive! Dive!
So you lost something on the bottom of the lake?!?! Maybe a diamond earring? Or a Cell Phone? Anchor? SunGlasses? Car Keys? Here are some tips to help make the recovery of your items easier to find:
1) Anchors - Tie a buoy to the line BEFORE you cut the line. Then call us. If the line is attached, we can get it. But if you cut the line, it makes it so much harder to find later. And too many times, your memory of where you thought it was is not correct. Just speaking from experience! Did you know that there are trees on the bottom of the lake? Always try to anchor in 35 feet or less of water. Any deeper and you are going to get your anchor caught in the trees.
2) Take pictures! From the point on your boat where you lost the item, take pictures in 360 degrees. Land marks can be a valuable tool when trying to find the area again.
3) Don't try to "feel it with your feet" so you can dive and get it yourself. All you are doing is pushing the item into the silt/mud making it even harder to find later.
4) Cell Phones - I have seen many phones recovered that still work after you dry them out. But TIME is of the essence. Don't wait! Call a diver so they can get it quickly out of the water.
5) Sun Glasses - contrary to popular belief, they do not sink straight down! They slide and wobble to the bottom. So get a good fix on where you dropped them - then we will take it from there!
6) Car keys - Always fun! NOT! They sink in the mud and silt. So we have to do a hand search in the muck! Now there is no visibility as it gets stirred up! Call quickly before they sink further into the muck!
7) Fishing poles - Was it attached to a fish when it went in? Get a good fix on the location and direction it went in. Some of these fish are very strong and can pull a pole a long ways!
😎 Drones - Yep, it happens! Wind came up at the last second as it was landing? Or hit something and crashed into the water? Best results when it is out of the water fast!
9) Docks - kids jumping off the docks? Do you know what is under your dock? You would be shocked! Have us check it first BEFORE you play!
10) Depth - it is important! Ever hear of The Bends (Decompression Sickness)? Check the depth before you call us. It makes a huge difference in terms of how we approach the recovery. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decompression_sickness
We all do this as a hobby - to help people! And to make a little side money.

So remember, we have to pay for our gas to get to you, the air in our tanks (it costs money to refill the tanks), the drive to the dive shop to get the air, the cost of our dive gear (which is expensive) and our time!

Objects of men, fallen from their side.
