Forever haunted by this RCI OFFROAD diff skid.

When I had it first set up with the front hoop, it getting banged into hard kicked it forward into the companion fl**ge, destroying that.

So then I tried just removing the front hoop since I replaced my companion fl**ge, and it got knocked around far too easily, which you see here.

I removed it for the second day of riding. After the money I’ve spent I would like SOME additionally protection for my differential, but what can I do other than purchase a different design?

Skid plates can protect the underbody f your vehicle where extremely important parts exist that support the function and operation of your rig.

There is also a question about aluminum versus steel.
Aluminum is lighter but has much more friction and is less likely to allow you to “slide” off of rocks or obstacles which could cause more problems for you. I learned this from
