Last week was a busy one. We had some issues with our Civic Type R that we planned to run in the WRL 14hr race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. Monday we picked up a friend's Spec E46 that had been sitting for over a year, and with only 3 days to prep it before leaving on Thursday, we got to work and were able to get it ready. During practice on Friday we had decent pace but also had some power cut on the top end. We were able to fix the problem and find more time in the car. We qualified 6th of 10 in GP2 class. Jason Owens started the race and started moving through the GP2 field getting to 3rd before his stint ended. Cody, the car owner jumped in and got us up into 2nd but then we had an 8ssue that caused us an 18 minute pit delay, we got it fixed and returned to the race back in 6th. We continued to work through our 4 driver lineup and get back to 4th, then 3rd, then 2nd place where we sat when a red flag was thrown for lightning just past the 11 hour mark. Ultimately the race was called after waiting nearly 3hrs and we finished a solid and very proud 2nd place in GP2. If it werent for that 18 minute delay, we would have been fighting for 1st. Overall a solid finish for our first WRL race under the Dash Autosports banner. Thank you to Gina Owens our small crew, all of our drivers, friends, and partners for the help all week and through the weekend. Thanks to Hawk Performance for their DTC 70 pads holding strong throughout the race. Continental for their great performing ExtremeContact Force XL tires. This was our first time using them and they held up great and were very consistent, and was great to have Continental at the race for setup suggestions and free mounting. Gran Turismo East for their quick acting for repair of some bent wheels before we had to leave as well as mounting of the tires. Motion Control Suspension for their always great performing suspension systems. Our good friends DiscoveryParts for the last minute needed safety equipment and advice.
