CHASING A TOYOTA GR86 DOWN PALOMAR MOUNTAIN

After the run up Palomar, it was his turn to lead.

He told me to follow him and keep up, so I stayed behind and watched him work his way down the mountain.

Then his rear end suddenly broke loose. The GR86 slid across the double yellow for a second, but he caught it and saved it.

That could’ve gone very differently.

TOYOTA GR86 VS DUCATI STREETFIGHTER V4S UP PALOMAR MOUNTAIN

We were chilling at one of the pullouts halfway up Palomar when this kid in a Toyota GR86 started talking like he was about to smoke me up the mountain.

Alright then. I’ll go first. You chase.

I gave him his chance to follow and then watched him disappear from my mirrors. 😂

WHO IS THIS GUY?!

TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE FASTEST RIDER ON PALOMAR

I have no idea who this guy is, but he absolutely flies.

I spent the whole way down Palomar trying to keep him in sight, and he just kept pulling away. I’ve ridden with a lot of fast people, but this guy was on another level.

Respect where it’s due.

SAW THE OPENING AND TOOK IT

TURN 3 PASS AT CHUCKWALLA

Turn 3 gave me just enough room to make it happen.

Stayed patient on corner entry, carried my speed through the apex, and completed the pass before heading into the next section. Simple, clean, and exactly how I wanted it.

I FOUND ALL THE DIRT AT CHUCKWALLA

EVERY OFF-TRACK MOMENT FROM THE DAY

Not every lap goes according to plan.

Here’s every time I ran off track at Chuckwalla. Some were small mistakes, some were me pushing a little too hard, but every one taught me something for the next session.

That’s part of getting faster.
