Rover Nirvana in Annapolis. The Mid-Atlantic is getting smothered in up to 1’ (that’s 30.5 cm for our international friends🤓) of snow today. We got out for a neighborhood snow patrol before the plows started ruining our fun but they’ll be hard pressed to keep up with it. The pubs will be full this afternoon!

Happened to glance down and catch the rollover to 126k miles. Not too momentous, but it reminded me of all the fun moments I’ve had with this 11 yr old Rover. Long may he roll.

PS: Still loving the frequent drive-thru car washes from . Best alternative I’ve found to keeping the Rover inside a garage.

My one and only regret about our move to the Annapolis waterfront 3 yrs ago— no more garage storage for Sinjin the LR4. Add to that the indignity of parking under a tree and you have a First World Problem of unspeakable magnitude.

Fortunately I discovered a nearby zero-touch car wash that does a surprisingly good job. For $30/month I get 20 washes/month. Yes, I can wash the Rover each and every weekday if I choose. The mild detergents and spot-free rinses seem pretty paint-friendly. I thought this would be just a maintenance wash option but at this frequency the Rover now stays spotless throughout the month. I also strategically adjusted my parking location.

Land Rovers look great filthy or pristine, especially the more rough-and-tumble models like the Discos, Defenders (all generations, IMO), RR Classics, and Series. How do you take your Landy, shaken (dirty) or stirred (clean)? 🍸 🫒

Alive and well at almost 124k miles. Still the best overall vehicle I’ve ever owned. Retired life has kept us busy and the Landy still figures prominently in our Eastport lifestyle. Cheers from the Chesapeake Bay. 🦀⚓️🍺

Watched the odometer roll over to 119K miles on a recent road trip. The 2013 LR4 doesn’t get driven as much as it used to these days as we moved to a very walkable town. But I still love a long solo road trip and it remains the all-around most comfortable and capable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
