Any track, any skis, any carbs, any suspension, for a mass produced (non race) leaf spring snowmobile, except as noted. Engine must match chassis in all classes except Class 2e, Class 3g, or Class 6. Clutches can be swapped out or upgraded, but must be readily available (no rare or racing) OEM Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo, Yamaha, or Comet. No exotic (expensive!) aftermarket racing parts allowed. Must ha
ve hood, belly pan, and seat in all classes except Class 3g and Class 6. Track must fit within tunnel. No forced induction (turbos, NOS, etc.). 2 mm max. overbore in all classes except Class 2e, Class 3g, and Class 6. Snow/mud flaps required. Working tethers and clutch/belt guards required. Working brakes required. Shielded stands required. Class 1:
a. Engines 340cc and under, fan or free air, with a single carb and a single stock exhaust. Free airs in this class must have been originally manufactured with a single carb. Single cylinder engines any cc with stock exhaust. No aftermarket pipes. No factory race/mod sleds
Class 2:
a. Fan cooled engines 341cc or more with a single carb and a stock single exhaust
b. Free air twin cylinder engines 340 cc and under with twin carbs and a stock single exhaust
c. Fan cooled engines 340cc and under with twin carbs and/or twin pipes. Any exhaust allowed. Fan/free air single cylinder mod sleds any cc. Engines must be built from production (non-racing) snowmobile engine parts, including crankcase, cylinder, and head. No liquid cooling. Any carbs, any exhaust. Class 3:
a. Free air twin cylinder engines over 341 cc with twin carbs and a stock single exhaust. Liquid cooled engines 340cc and under with twin carbs and a stock single exhaust. Free air engines 340cc and under with twin carbs and/or twin pipes. d. Fan cooled engines over 341cc with twin carbs and/or twin pipes. Factory race sleds with fan cooled engines any cc. f. Factory race sleds with free air engines 340cc and under. g. Single cylinder mods, any cc, any cooling, any combination of parts including motorcycle, ATV, etc. This is an unlimited engine builder’s class where anything goes. Class 4:
a. Liquid cooled engines any cc, with twin carbs and a single stock exhaust
b. Free air twin cylinder engines over 341 cc, with twin carbs and/or twin pipes. Any exhaust allowed
c. Factory race sleds with free air engines any cc. Factory race sleds with liquid cooled engines 340cc and under. Class 5:
a. Liquid cooled engines any cc. Open pipes. Free air twins and triples with any carbs and any exhaust. Factory race sleds with liquid cooled engines any cc. Class 6:
Open class. Any sled that doesn’t fit the above classes can run open. Open class sleds must use a vintage engine from a leaf spring chassis 1985 or older. Relic sleds: Any sled 1974 model year or older with a non-jackshaft chassis, original suspension, and original secondary clutch can move down one class from where it would normally run based on the classes above. Example: a 440cc fan cooled machine that is 1974 or older, non jackshaft, original suspension, and original secondary clutch can run in Class 1 instead of Class 2. Sleds fitting the Class 1 description but are 1974 or older non-jackshaft will run in Class 0. All relic sleds must meet the class rules they would normally run in, not the class they’re moving down to. Factory race sleds = Sno-Twisters, Thunderjets, Zs, Starfires, Blizzards, etc. Rules are subject to change. In extreme cases a sled may be re-classed for a better fit overall – race director’s discretion. Any questions, please ask, don’t assume. Our number one goal is keep the racing fair and fun for everybody!
