Time is passing, 19 yrs in fact. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be know forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, and the funerals of our fellow Americans.

So on this day, Patriot Day and all that it represents, we honor the value of life, those we loved and lost, our country's resilience, and strength of the American Spirit.

Let’s take a moment. Clear your mind of all the stuff you’re seeing today on the news, and for a moment, set aside nCOVID-19, Presidential elections, riots, and racism.

And remember that today is June 6th.

76 years ago, today, was the invasion of Notthern Italy via the beaches of Normandy. Even today, it remains the largest seaborne invasion in history. Some men never successfully made it to the beach, even more never faced the enemy head-on, and more yet never made it home.

As you silence your mind of the mess that is 2020, think of the clash and clatter on that beach in 1944. Think of the grit and determination of our scared children fighting together to end the biggest evil the world had yet seen. Think of the women and children at home, not knowing what day it was, or that their sons and fathers were desperately fighting for freedom, for peace, and history.

Can you hear their screams? Can you smell the salt and sweat and blood in the air? Can you sense their fear, can you feel their determination to win?

Take a minute today to honor our heroes, today.

On this Memorial Day remember those who have gone before us and continue to serve this great country. Remember that no matter how divided we may seem, it is the sacrifice of these warriors that will unite us all once more.

It was honor to serve along side my fellow warriors on the battle field. I will forever be grateful to have served with true heros.
